I'd like to ask everyone out there who drops by my blog to tell me who their three favourite photographers are. Please include links if you would.
Mine would have to be:
Nina Raginsky (this photo was taken of her when she was younger) and you can check out some of her images as well. You can read a short biography of her here. (I remember meeting Nina in the 80's when I was working at an art shop. She was in the shop and came across some pen nibs that she thought would be an excellent gift for a friend in New York who was an artist. It turned out the guy was actually quite famous. Anthony Hayden Guest or Roy Lichtenstein... its difficult to recall.
Yousuf Karsh and some of his images. I have never met him but I think his portraits are amazing.
Wolfgang Tillmans and some of his images. Again never met but he is definitely a product of this generation of media babies (those who are really affected by the media)
There are actually lots of them but I thought you'd all like to share your ideas.
As a note, along with my own photos, I have also had the great pleasure to know people that I consider to be artists in their own right. Yuko Hioki, N.S. Kim and Tanya Murdoch. You might be hard pressed to find any of their work on the net but you might be lucky to see their work somewhere in the world.
